What about my Kids?
Ivy Kids meet during most of our Ivy Church services. We all join in to worship together, then the service host will let you know when it’s time for the kids groups to meet. Sessions offer children the opportunity to meet and experience Jesus, explore what the Bible says, play lots of games and make great friendships.

What About My Teenagers?
On Sunday mornings Ivy Youth (years 6 - 9) meet most Sunday mornings at Didsbury. We all join in to worship together, then the service host will let you know when it’s time for the groups to meet. It’s an opportunity to find a community of young people to belong to, to grow in their own relationships with God, make friends, have Bible discussions, hear talks and play games.

Cheadle Hulme
Helen Wilson
Helen Wilson started coming to Ivy in 2017 and stayed due to the welcome she received and the Grow Group that supported her settling into Manchester. She works as a hospital pharmacist and loves walking in the hills, reading, cooking and a good chat. Helen has been involved in the welcome team, leading a prayer group for Cheadle Hulme and recently enjoyed studying with Westminster Theological College.

Gav Lightbown
Gav has been at Ivy for just over 4 years, after coming back to God on a wonderful day back in 2021. Since walking through the doors at Ivy he has been on such an incredible adventure, getting to know Jesus better and better and enjoying a fantastic relationship with him, serving on the tech team, the worship team, the hosting team and the men's ministry team (so far!). Gav is married to Amanda and they have four boys who are the perfect guinea pigs for his awful dad joke collection. Come and say hi if you see him, it would be great to chat and get to know you.
Didsbury
Mark and Alison Howorth
Mark and Alison Howorth have been part of Ivy Church for over 30 years. Over the years they have been involved in Pastoral Care, Alpha Courses, Marriage Preparation and Enhancement, Children’s Work and Grow Group Leadership and support and Mark was previously an Elder and on the Staff Team at Ivy.
Mark and Alison are both retired and love travelling, theatre, walking and spending time with their wonderful two grown up children.

FAQs
What to expect
The service host will explain what’s happening in the service. It will include worship led by a band and prayer. One of our leaders or a guest speaker will share a message from the Bible, which might be by video and we usually spend some time considering how this is relevant for us. There is time to chat over coffee - a great chance to meet someone new!
Tea and coffee are served at Cheadle Hulme before the service from 10am and between the services at Didsbury.
What is worship
We sing to God in worship, as we believe we have a great reason to show our thanks and praise, just as an audience at a gig or football crowd expresses its joy with songs and shouts! Lyrics will be displayed on the screen so you can join in.
What is the Bible?
The Bible is the word of God. In it, we find words of wisdom, encouragement and lessons that we apply to our daily lives.
Prayer
Prayer is conversation with God. We express our gratitude and ask God to guide or help us. If you want someone to pray with you for a particular need, ask one of the welcome team who will find someone to help you.
What should I wear?
There is no dress code at Ivy Church. Come along in what feels most comfortable for you.
Need help?
Don’t hesitate to ask someone in a blue t-shirt! They’re often near the door to welcome you.
Is parking available?
Didsbury: We have limited parking in the car park behind the church building, which is mainly for disabled users. Street parking is available on Sundays on the single yellow lines. Please park with consideration for our neighbours.
Cheadle Hulme: We have car parks available on both sides of the Brockbank Centre, with disabled spots near the doors. On busy days, street parking is available locally. Please park with consideration for our neighbours.
